Old Roots
Joel is a proud resident of McGaheysville and his family roots in the area date back to the 18th century. He is a graduate of Spotswood High School and James Madison University. He has worked in government at both the local, state and federal level and has held leadership roles in the Republican Party. He started his own business in 2017 while he worked to obtain a Master’s in Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. During the Covid-19 Pandemic he moved back to McGaheysville to work for the federal government while continuing to maintain and operate his small business endeavors. Upon returning, he believed that Rockingham County was making impractical and short-sighted development decisions which the residents did not want. This inspired him to seek a seat on the Rockingham Board of Supervisors.
Joel has one daughter and is involved with various volunteer organizations within his community.
